Op-ed (in tweet form): Happy #4thOfJuly to states that practice liberty. #USA ranks 15th in freedom, and will keep falling if the fruitcakes (AL, AR, ID, KY, LA, MS, MO, ND, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, WY) with trigger laws use tax dollars (even though they worship small government) to promote their inner Taliban.

All we get for winter is a 90-second snow shower

Dallas is not exactly a magnet for wintry conditions, although there have been some classic ice storms and the infamous DFW snow storm during Superbowl XLV. As for today, here in Old  East Dallas we received one of the worst snow showers of all-time, enjoy...

To put things into context, the real white powder (no, not referring to that illegal substance) is of course in places where folk actually have to buy snow tires, or else they'll have no chance of driving like Southern lunatics. No disrespect to drivers who like to tailgate and use their brakes like crazy.

The following list will offend those who like to think their winters are real (you know, weak people who cover up and use heaters when it's 50°F/10°C). I give you the 25 snowiest cities in these United States (average annual snowfall in inches):

Rochester, NY (48.8)
Lakewood, CO (47.1)
Anchorage, AK (38.2)
Fort Collins, CO (37.1)
Syracuse, NY (35.6)
Fargo, ND (34.3)
Buffalo, NY (33.5)
Manchester, NH (29.7)
Eerie, PA (29.1)
Denver, CO (29.0)
Worcester, MA (27.8)
Green Bay, WI (26.7)
Minneapolis, MN (25.6)
Colorado Springs, CO (25.5)
Billings, MT (24.1)
Lowell, MA (22.8)
Ann Arbor, MI (22.4)
Hartford, CT (22.0)
Grand Rapids, MI (21.5)
Rochester, MN (21.1)
Pueblo, CO (20.6)
Flint, MI (19.2)
Spokane, WA (19.1)
Madison, WI (18.6)
Salt Lake City, UT (15.8)

If you live in one of the above cities, you're allowed to bundle up and use actual fireplaces. You have permission to whinge and whine about shoveling snow. Most importantly, quietly tell-off earthlings who have the audacity to wear beanies, gloves and winter coats when it's not snowing.

In all seriousness, climate change has hit North Texas hard, DFW just had its warmest decade on record. You know things are out of whack when it was 70°F/21°C on Christmas Day 2019. Trust me, if you live in the Sun Belt with a yearly dose of 200-days of extreme heat, the last thing you want is a mild winter. To our friends in upstate NY, please dump your unwanted blizzards on us.
