Op-ed (in tweet/X form)

Op-ed (in tweet/X form): Many American earthlings ignore white collar felons (of the proven rapist variety), especially when it comes to them preaching about medication, reproductive rights and speech. I understand that some take the word of criminal rapists as gospel, have at it, it's a "free" country.

Hey, anti-vaxxers, MCMXXIV is calling!

Yours truly is officially double-vaxxed. In other words, GE can roam freely around the world causing havoc on ignorance, watch out conspiracy theorists, your time is up! (Shout-out to Dr Sahin and Dr Tureci from BioNTech, there would be no Pfizer vaccine without their genius).

If you're an anti-vaxxer, please exit stage left, enter the time machine provided and take yourself back to 1924 (just before the discovery of the tetanus vaccine) and stay put. Warning: by doing this, you won't have to endure all the other vaccines invented after 1924: chickenpox, diphtheria, measles, meningococcal, mumps, pneumococcal, polio, rubella to name a few. Added bonus, you also get to live a life without penicillin.

Fatalities from a pesky virus are rare in my current neck of the woods (metropolis of 5 million inhabitants), yet we're told we can only travel within a 10km (6.2 mi) radius. Thankfully, I'm stuck in the ideal place for doomsday!

Now that the jabs have taken their full affect, it's time to let the hair flow on a classic two-wheel ad-libbing detour.

We have entered the Twilight Zone!

Off-tangent cycling encore (with a Canuck twist)

On this 155th edition of Canada Day, it's another round of vlogging from a winter less city. The Great White North won't be happy! Talking all things Canuck, it has been a harrowing year for the nation known as being too nice.

I call on the globe to have a collective moment of silence for the gruesome discovery this week of 182 umarked graves near a former Indian residential school in Lower Kootenay Bay, B.C. (a grisly pattern is emerging, just over a month ago the remains of 215 children were found buried at a former Indian residential school in Kamloops, B.C. and just last week another 751 in Marieval, Saskatchewan).

This is just one example of a dark stain on Canadian history. Between the 1830s & 1977 the Federal government was in cahoots with the Catholic Church, housing 150,000 indigenous children in residential schools. This is the moment for Canada to prove its empathy credentials. I trust they will make the necessary repatriations, for too long the First Nations have been violated. Look at Australia (the nation founded by genocide), they can't find the decency to honour the Aboriginal people in the Constitution.

Now we reconvene normal programming: another episode of bewildering commentary on two wheels.

Footnote

As my astute readers/viewers are aware, I've avoided pesky virus talk like the plague (pardon the pun). Sadly, I live in a nanny state locale (shall remain nameless, you know it as the arse end of the world) has gone into mass panic. I sent out the following tweet to earthlings stuck in this wasteland, and to educate those abroad that there are a lot of weak people among us.

Australians are frail! Don't be fooled by their token celebrities, portrayed by Hollywood as capable of killing snakes with bare hands. You guessed it! #Australia is in panic mode with zero #COVID19 deaths since Nov 2020. Covid "Fun" fact: 659 fatalities in Russia on 30/6/21.

Cheers to Hayastan & Yisra'el

Hayastan (Õ€Õ¡ÕµÕ¡Õ½Õ¿Õ¡Õ¶), Armenia for those not versed in the language that dates back to 405 AD) or as Transparency International likes to refer to as, the 60th least corrupt nation (circa 2021) has awoken from its post war slumber. In a turnout (49.4%) that makes US Presidential elections look good, the voters have put to bed their love of war tyrants and kleptocrats.

The former President, Robert Kocharian represented the aforementioned and was extinguished. The incumbent Nikol Pashinian is back for another attempt of taking Hayastan to the next level, (as it currently stands it's vying with the likes of Moldova in the democratic norms). With its emphasis on technology, (little known fact: countries like Albania are trying to mirror the efforts of Armenia in educating computer coders) I can see it following in the footsteps of Estonia, only if it can keep distancing from war lust.

Many of my fellow earthlings who share my Armenian ancestry will no doubt be wanting Pashinian's head on a platter, but we can't keep hating on leaders that are sick of holding grudges in the battle for disputed ancient lands, as I stated in my past op-ed on the topic. https://globaleditorial.blogspot.com/2020/11/the-caucasus-depict-worst-in-humans.html

Have I lost earthlings that don't give two hoots about the world's oldest Christian nation yet? Bare with me, I needed to give this tiny republic a shout-out, not because of my surname, but for the fact it took gumption for a leader of a relatively new republic to reign over war games and call a snap vote to see if a military satellite of Putin's Russia could stand up and say no to more conflict. NP still needs to rise above the kleptocracy that is in Armenia's DNA.

For now let's take a win for a quasi democracy that may just become the next Yisra'el (minus all those bomb sirens). Speaking of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu (Bibi) has finally been vanquished. I'm not holding my breath, suppressing Palestinians with blind US backing is still listed as a hobby on Israel's CV. For now, let's rejoice that a grand coalition has managed to dethrone the cockroach. Let's celebrate the many firsts of the 36th government of Israel: Arab Party (Ra'am) makes up one of the eight parties in the ruling coalition (Mansour Abbas named Deputy Minister of Arab Affairs in the PM's office), Pnina Tamano-Shata (one of a record-breaking nine woman in the 27 member cabinet) becomes Minister for Immigrant Absorption, the first Ethiopian-born woman to hold a ministry.

Natfali Bennett is locked in as PM for two years, as an individual he's even scarier than Bibi, but the difference is he agreed to only stay as PM for two years and accept the Coalition agreement. In other words, he was so desperate for power that he let go of his ultra nationalist orthodox tendencies for the good of a rainbow coalition. His detractors will say he is a snake like Bibi waiting to pounce. Much will be said in the coming years, but for now let's rejoice before another military skirmish ensues, GE raises its glass (lemon-lime is the Editors choice of drink) to Israel's 36th government.

We need a nonstanding POTUS

There comes a time in a Presidency when they jump the shark (to take a phrase from the entertainment world when a series loses the plot), cue Joey blurting out: I stand with Israel.
